Yesterday morning I had the last remaining bit of the Apple Cinnamon Flax Pancakes with a dollup of almond butter on top. Man are those good!!!
Cleaned up the kitchen and went upstairs with the boys for school. For those who don't know, we homeschool...grades 1 & 2! And it's usually in our PJs or shirtless...that's how we roll! :)
We got a bit crafty and made a Christmas Advent of sorts. 25 links with someone's name (or family name) on the inside of each link. Everyday leading up to Christmas we will pray for that person(s) specifically on the day we unlink their name.

This salad also comprised of: Romaine, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, sesame sticks, and hummus with balsamic and EVOO!
Later in the evening I had a baby shower at Mimi's Cafe to go to, but around 3:30 I got HUNGRY! So, with the kids quietly upstairs for their afternoon quiet time, I decided to sit down for a nice calming afternoon tea time! Tazo Organic Chai Tea and my homemade Chocolate Superfood Granola Bar!!! Delish!
At Mimi's Cafe, I got the Asian Chopped Salad. I requested avocado instead of chicken. I was a bit disappointed when I got the salad and this was all the avocado that was on it. THEN to pour salt in the wound they wanted to charge me an extra $1.70 for adding the avocado. I was like "HELLO!" I didn't get a piece of chicken. They kindly removed the ridiculous up charge! :) Thank you very much.
It was a pretty good salad, although I would have liked it if it were a bit bigger. I'm into BIG salads these days...wimpy salads need not apply!
I am so glad you're making that dish for next week! It's been making my mouth water since you first put it on here.
ReplyDeleteI love the prayer chain idea! I'm not sure we know 24 people to write down, though, so we may have to wait until it gets closer to Xmas to make one. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe prayer chain is such a neat idea...I love it! Really thoughtful and a great way to get your kids involved. That's crazy about the avocado on the salad! I would've been peeved too, but I'm glad you said something.
